Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Skypopp. Can't find your answer? Contact us and we'll get back to you in 1–2 business days.
Skypopp is a flight deal alert service for US-based travelers. Our team scours hundreds of routes every day to find significant fare discounts and flash sales — then delivers them straight to your inbox before they disappear.
The average Skypopp member saves $237 per trip. We monitor 150+ routes and aim to surface deals within 2 hours of them going live.
Yes — Skypopp has a completely free tier that gives you access to domestic US flight deals, email alerts, and all deal filters. No credit card required to sign up.
If you want international deals (Europe, Asia, Latin America) and business/first class fares abroad, you can upgrade to Premium for $1.99/month — less than a coffee.
- Create a free account — sign up with your email or continue with Google or Facebook. Takes under a minute.
- Pick your home airports — choose the airports you typically fly out of. We'll tailor your deal alerts to those departure points.
- Browse deals — head to your deals dashboard to see live and recent flight deals. Set filters for cabin class, trip type, max price, and more.
- Watch your inbox — whenever we find a deal matching your airports, we'll email you immediately so you can book before it disappears.
We currently support airports in California and Texas, with more states rolling out soon. You can follow multiple home airports — for example, both LAX and SFO if you're in the Bay Area but sometimes drive to LA.
Keep an eye on your onboarding page — we add new states regularly and will notify members as coverage expands.
We surface a wide range of flight deals, including:
- Domestic US routes — flash sales, error fares, and deeply discounted fares across the country (free tier)
- International routes — flights to Europe, Asia, Latin America, and beyond (Premium)
- Economy & premium economy — the bread and butter of cheap flights
- Business & first class abroad — discounted premium cabin fares that sometimes rival economy prices (Premium)
- Round trips & one-way fares — we clearly label which is which
- Nonstop and connecting flights — you can filter to nonstop-only if you prefer
Every deal card shows an expiry countdown — for example, "Expires in 4h" or "Expires in 2d". Deals marked as expiring within 24 hours get a critical urgency badge so you know to act fast.
You can also filter your dashboard to show only active deals (the default) to hide anything that's already expired. Flight deals are notoriously short-lived, so if something catches your eye, we recommend checking the fare immediately.
Yes. Your deals dashboard has a full filter bar with the following options:
- Airport — view deals from one specific home airport or all of them at once
- Cabin class — Economy, Premium Economy, Business, or First
- Trip type — Round trip or One-way
- Nonstop only — toggle to hide connecting itineraries
- Max price — enter a ceiling and only deals at or below that price will appear
- Sort — newest first, cheapest, most expensive, or expiring soonest
- Search — free-text search by destination name, airport code, or airline
No — Skypopp is a deal discovery and alert service, not a booking platform. Each deal includes a direct link to book the fare through the airline or a third-party booking site. You complete the booking yourself, which means you own your reservation directly with the carrier.
We never charge any booking fees. Our only revenue comes from the $1.99/month Premium subscription.
We work hard to catch deals the moment they go live and mark them expired the moment they end, but we cannot guarantee that a fare will still be available by the time you click through. Airlines can pull deals at any time, inventory can sell out in minutes, and prices fluctuate in real time.
If you see a deal you like, check it immediately. The faster you act, the better your chances. We never fabricate or inflate deal prices — what you see is the real fare we observed.
Our team of travel analysts monitors hundreds of routes every day, checking fares across airlines, booking windows, and date combinations. When we spot a price that's significantly below the typical going rate for that route — whether it's a flash sale, a mistake fare, a promotional price, or a sudden inventory drop — we validate it, write it up, and publish it to the platform.
Every deal that reaches you has been reviewed by a human on our team. We don't publish automated noise — only deals we'd genuinely book ourselves.
Our target is under 2 hours from when a deal appears to when it lands in your inbox. In practice, deals that come from scheduled flash sales (where we know the timing in advance) are often published within minutes of going live. Surprise error fares and spontaneous drops may take slightly longer as our team confirms the fare is real and bookable.
It's a combination. We use tools to help us track price movements across routes at scale, but every deal that gets published to Skypopp has been reviewed and approved by a human on our team. Our analysts add context — which dates are bookable, which cabin class, which airlines, and whether the fare is genuinely worth your time — before it ever reaches you.
This human-in-the-loop approach is why our deal quality is consistently high. We'd rather send you fewer, better deals than flood your inbox with marginal discounts.
There's no fixed percentage threshold — our team judges each deal against the typical market rate for that specific route and season. A $299 round trip to London is a deal when the normal price is $800; the same price to a nearby domestic city may not be worth surfacing.
As a general rule, we aim to share deals that represent at least 30–50% off the normal fare, and often more. Error fares can be 70–90% off. We always include the deal price prominently so you can judge for yourself.
Whenever our team publishes a new deal, we automatically send an email to all members who have at least one matching home airport. The email includes the route, price, airline, cabin class, trip type, available travel dates, and a direct link to book.
You don't need to be logged in or check the app — just keep an eye on your inbox. We only send an email when there's a real deal worth your attention.
It varies — deal frequency depends on airline promotions, error fares, and seasonal patterns. Some weeks you may get several alerts; other weeks there may be one or two. We send emails only when there's a genuine deal to share. We never pad volume with mediocre fares just to stay in your inbox.
A few things to check:
- Spam/junk folder — add hello@skypopp.com to your contacts or safe-senders list to ensure delivery.
- Home airports set — go to Manage airports and confirm you have at least one airport selected. No airports = no deal emails.
- Deal volume — if you've just joined, you may simply be waiting for the next deal. Deals are published as they're found, not on a fixed schedule.
If you're still having trouble, contact us and we'll look into your account.
Yes. Every deal email includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Clicking it will opt you out of deal alerts while keeping your account and preferences intact. You can always re-subscribe by contacting us or via the unsubscribe confirmation page.
Yes — if a deal is set to expire within 48 hours, the email will include a prominent warning so you know to act quickly. For longer-lived deals we show the expiry date in a more subtle way so you have a sense of the window without feeling rushed unnecessarily.
All payments are processed securely through Stripe, one of the world's most trusted payment platforms. Skypopp never stores your credit card details — Stripe handles all payment data under their PCI-compliant infrastructure.
You'll be billed $1.99 on the same day each month, starting from when you first upgraded.
Stripe's checkout accepts all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover). Additional payment methods available through Stripe may vary by region.
Go to your Account page and click "Manage subscription." This opens your Stripe billing portal, where you can update your card, download invoices, and view your billing history — all handled securely by Stripe.
No surprise charges. When you cancel, your Premium access continues through the end of your current billing period — you've already paid for that time. You won't be charged again after cancellation, and you won't receive a pro-rated refund for the remaining days.
We don't offer refunds as a general policy since the service is available immediately upon upgrading. That said, if you were charged in error or have an unusual situation, reach out to us at hello@skypopp.com and we'll do our best to make it right.
Cancellation takes about 10 seconds:
- Go to your Account page
- Find the "Subscription" section
- Click "Cancel subscription"
- Confirm in the dialog that appears
That's it. Your subscription is set to cancel at the end of your current billing period, and you won't be charged again.
After cancellation, you keep full Premium access until the end of the billing period you've already paid for. Once that period ends, your account automatically reverts to the free plan — you'll still receive domestic deal alerts and have full access to the dashboard, just without international deals.
Your account, airports, and preferences are all preserved. You can re-subscribe to Premium at any time from the upgrade page.
Yes — you can reactivate Premium at any time by going to the Upgrade page and starting a new subscription. If your previous billing period hasn't ended yet, you can also reactivate directly from the Stripe billing portal (accessible via "Manage subscription" on your account page).
Go to your Account page and scroll to the "Danger zone" section. Click "Delete account" and confirm. This will:
- Cancel your Stripe subscription immediately (if active)
- Delete your Skypopp account and all associated preferences
- Sign you out permanently
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Your personal data will be deleted or anonymized within 30 days in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
You can sign in with:
- Google — one-click sign-in with your Google account
- Facebook — one-click sign-in with your Facebook account
- Email & password — create an account with your email address; you'll receive a confirmation email before your account is fully activated
On the sign-in page, click "Forgot password?" and enter your email address. We'll send you a reset link. If you signed up with Google or Facebook, you don't have a password — just use that social login button instead.
Go to Manage airports (also accessible from the navigation menu under your name). Select or deselect any airports and save. Your deal alerts will immediately reflect your updated airport preferences.
We collect the minimum necessary to run the service:
- Your email address and name (for your account and deal alerts)
- Your selected home airports (to filter which deals to send you)
- Subscription status and Stripe customer ID (for billing)
- Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited)
We do not sell your data. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
Skypopp is currently designed for travelers departing from US airports. If you're based outside the US you can still create an account and browse deals, but our home airport coverage and alert targeting is built around US departure cities. We may expand to other departure regions in the future.
Reach us through the contact form or by emailing hello@skypopp.com. We respond to all inquiries within 1–2 business days. For billing-specific questions, you can also manage most things directly through the Stripe billing portal from your account page.
